Shakespeare Inspires: Stories From the City
With Shakespeare’s stories and characters as a jumping off point and as a culminating experience, youth participants are guided through Applied Theatre techniques to develop their own stories, focusing on their own concerns about identity, advocacy and social justice. Participants will learn narrative structure as they explore issues in their own lives and communities and learn about their power to examine choices and make positive change.
Each story is told in a graphic novella built around images developed by the youth, photographed and manipulated with Photoshop, and include captioning and dialogue written by the participants.
